Detroit, MI – February 28, 2025 – The Detroit Historic Districts Alliance (DHDA) is pleased to announce a series of town hall meetings featuring candidates running for the positions of Mayor and City Council in the upcoming election. These pivotal events will take place throughout 2025, providing a platform for candidates to discuss their vision for Detroit and engage directly with community members. 

The town hall meetings are designed to foster open dialogue between voters and candidates about important issues facing our city, particularly those related to historic preservation, economic development, and community engagement. By bringing together the candidates and the citizens they aim to represent, DHDA hopes to encourage civic participation and informed voting. 

“We believe that these town hall meetings will empower Detroit residents to be active participants in the democratic process,” said Pierre Haden, Executive Director of the Detroit Historic Districts Alliance. “Engaging with our city’s future leaders is essential for building a vibrant and inclusive Detroit.” 

All community members are encouraged to attend the town hall meetings to voice their concerns, ask questions, and hear firsthand from those who aspire to lead the city. The schedule of events will be published on the DHDA website, and additional announcements will be made via local media outlets.
